Parents remember
School is closed September 6th for Labor day and the Fall break
is October 18th through the 22nd
Resident Referral
Residents, remember that we are giving a $125.00
resident referral bonus. If someone signs a lease with the Orchards and gives
us your name as their referral, you will get a $125.00 credit to your next
months rent!!
After Hours Pagers
The Orchards Staff provides all residents
with the after hour pager numbers. When calling the pager numbers, please
remember that these numbers are pagers, not telephones. When calling any
pager, you must enter the telephone number that you can be reached at by one of
our staff members. You should NOT enter your apartment number into the
pager. Also, please remember to enter your area code if it is different
than 901. The Orchards Staff tries very hard to contact you as soon as
possible after you have called any pager. The emergency pager is for any
maintenance emergency ONLY! The courtesy officer pager is if you need to
get in touch with our security officer ONLY! The lockout pager is to be
used for lockouts ONLY! Please remember that if you are locked out of your
apartment and need the lockout staff member to let you in your apartment after
office hours, on holidays or when the office is closed, you will be charged a
$40.00 fee at the time of unlocking your door. Thank You!

Packages:
If you or a loved one
will be receiving packages that must be signed for, please make sure that you
leave a signed release in the front office. The letter must state that the
Orchards’ is not responsible or liable for any packages left or signed for by
the office staff. The office cannot accept your packages without this release
on file. Please pick up packages within 48 hours.

Resident POT LUCK Come to visit, stay
and eat. Bring food for 4-6 people or just come and eat there is always
plenty! Tuesday October
12th 11:30 to 1:00.
Halloween Safety:
Parents please remember to always accompany your
children when out on property. When Trick or Treating, please only go to
Apartments with a Pumpkin page hanging on the door. They are included in the
newsletter and we have extras in the office. Trick or Treating hours stop at
9:00pm. Please remember safety first and wear something visible to cars!!

Old-Fashioned Soft Pumpkin Cookies
Ingredients

2 1/2 cups
all-purpose flour
·
1 teaspoon baking soda
·
1 teaspoon baking powder
·
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
·
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
·
1/2 teaspoon salt
·
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
·
1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened
·
1 cup
LIBBY'S® 100% Pure Pumpkin
·
1 large egg
·
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
·
Glaze (recipe follows)
Directions
PREHEAT
oven to 350° F. Grease baking sheets.
COMBINE flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in
medium bowl. Beat sugar and butter in large mixer bowl until well blended. Beat
in pumpkin, egg and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually beat in flour
mixture. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets.
BAKE for 15 to 18 minutes or until edges are firm. Cool on baking sheets
for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Drizzle Glaze over
cookies.
FOR GLAZE:
COMBINE 2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon
melted butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in small bowl until smooth.
